Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Introduction

As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician at Dutch Caribbean Islandhopper you ensure the safe, efficient, and timely inspection/maintenance of our aircraft.

You will perform your tasks according to the Approved Maintenance Manuals of Dutch Caribbean Islandhopper.

This physically active and hands-on position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, value teamwork, and are passionate about aviation.

Key Responsibilities

Following is a brief overview of the key-responsibilities:

  • Supervision of Aircraft Mechanics;

  • Performing of Inspections & Maintenance on Aircraft & Components; and

  • Performing of Inspections of the Hangar/Ramp Area so as to remove any FOD “Foreign Objects which could cause Damage".

In addition, you will:

  • Follow all safety, operational, and security protocols;

  • Communicate effectively with team members, flight crew, and operations personnel;

  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of facilities, equipment & ramp areas; and

  • Support irregular operations (Flight delays, Diversions, and/or Emergency Responses).

Position Prerequisites

Applicants must:

  • Be a national of the country where the base is located, or be eligible to obtain a residence and work permit for that location.

  • Be between 21 and 40 years old;

  • Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently;

  • Be medically fit;

  • Hold a valid AMT License (B1 and/or B2); and

  • Hold a valid driver’s license.

As this is a Security Sensitive Position all candidates will undergo a thorough background check.

Training Requirements

All selected will receive in-house training and must pass both written & practical exams. Upon successful completion, candidates will undergo on-the-job training, followed by a performance evaluation period.

Mental & Physical Requirements

The airport environment can be fast-paced and demanding. Applicants must have high stress tolerance. The role involves physical tasks, including the use of equipment. Applicants must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties safely.

Working Conditions

Work is conducted both within the Aircraft Maintenance Hangar, and outdoors. Outdoor tasks are conducted in all weather conditions, including sun, rain, and wind. You will be exposed to aircraft noise and prop/jet blast.

Work Schedule

You will be scheduled as per variable shifts. You must be available to work on weekends and on public holidays as required by operational needs.

Uniform & Equipment

You will be required to wear the company-provided uniform, including identification and personal protective equipment (PPE). Proper and consistent use of uniform and PPE is mandatory at all times.
