Alcohol & Substance Use

For the safety of all passengers and crew, DCI may deny boarding to any passenger who appears to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other substances.

Although the use of certain substances may be common in some destinations, passengers must be fit to fly and able to follow crew instructions at all times.

Boarding may be denied if a passenger:

  • Shows signs of intoxication or impairment

  • Behaves in a disruptive or unsafe manner

  • Is unable or unwilling to follow crew instructions

  • Has a strong odor of alcohol or cannabis (marijuana), especially when combined with signs of impairment

DCI has a zero‑tolerance policy for passengers under the influence of illegal drugs. In addition to denying boarding, the airline may impose a temporary or permanent ban from future travel with DCI. All decisions are made by airline staff in the interest of safety and compliance.

Passengers denied boarding under this policy may be rebooked at the airline’s discretion and in accordance with fare rules
