Safety Belts

In accordance with CCAR 8.9.1.3 (Curacao Civil Aviation Regulations), all passengers must be able to safely occupy an approved aircraft seat and correctly use the installed safety restraint system.

Passenger requirements
All passengers must be able to:

  1. Sit fully within a single aircraft seat, without encroaching on adjacent seating positions or aircraft controls; and

  2. Securely fasten and properly wear the installed safety belt as designed and certified.

The aircraft is equipped with airbag-integrated safety belts. These restraint systems are part of the aircraft’s certified safety equipment and must be used exactly as installed.

Seatbelt extensions and modifications
Seatbelt extenders, alternative restraint devices, or any form of modification to the installed safety belt system are not permitted. Due to the integrated airbag design, extensions or modifications may interfere with proper restraint function and are not approved for use.

Inability to use the installed restraint
If a passenger is unable to properly fasten and wear the installed safety belt, the aircraft may not be operated with that passenger on board, as this would be contrary to civil aviation safety requirements.

This requirement applies equally to all passengers and cannot be waived.

Determination of compliance
Seatbelt compliance is determined solely by the passenger’s ability to properly fasten and wear the installed restraint as designed. No assessment of personal characteristics, such as weight, body shape, gender, or appearance, is conducted, and passengers are not weighed.

Denied boarding and refunds
If boarding is denied due to non-compliance with this safety belt policy, a refund will be offered in accordance with the applicable fare conditions. The operator shall not be liable for any additional costs incurred by the passenger as a result of denied boarding.

Mandatory use of Seatbelts

Carrier staff are required to enforce this policy strictly and consistently in the interest of passenger safety and regulatory compliance. Staff are not permitted to deviate from or override this policy.
